In December, the Census Bureau released new 2019 population estimates that give us clues about which states will gain or lose congressional seats and how the Electoral College will be impacted for the next decade.

History & Process
The Reapportionment Act of 1929 outlined the process by which states are allocated congressional seats, capping the number of representatives at 435 and setting the process in place so that reapportionment would occur after the 1930 census.
