Republicans are heading to the city in their quest for the majority.

While urban areas have recently eluded Republicans, there’s one exception: Staten Island, where Republicans have historically prevailed in the toughest circumstances. That came to an end — or at least a pause — when Democrat Max Rose ousted GOP Rep. Dan Donovan in 2018.
