AURORA, Colo. (AP) - Protesters are walking from Denver to an immigrant detention center in a suburb several miles away.

Aurora police shut down several streets and were out in force on Saturday as the march progressed from Denver’s City Park to the privately run detention center.

Dozens of counter-protesters have gathered at the facility.

The center run by GEO Group has been the scene of multiple protests by people opposed to the Trump administration’s immigration policies and enforcement actions.

The march follows a Thursday protest at the home of GEO warden Johnny Choate, whose company contracts with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

A July 12 protest at the center drew about 2,000 people. Some of them crossed onto the center’s property and pulled down the American flag, replacing it with a Mexican one.
