President Trump[1] on Thursday took a jab at Fox News pollsters who’s recent survey gave him a 46 percent job-approval rating.
Fox News polls “have always been lousy,” Mr. Trump[2] said in an interview with Fox News host Harris Faulkner.
The president said he didn’t know why polls by the conservative news channel tilt negative about him.
The latest Fox News poll showed Mr. Trump[3] with 46 percent approval and 52 percent disapproval, down from a high approval-disapproval split of 48-47 percent in February 2017.
The new poll also gave Mr. Trump[4] a 47 percent “excellent/good” rating on handling the economy, down from 49 percent in January.
Another 48 percent said they believed the Trump campaign coordinated with Russia in the 2016 election, up from 44 percent who felt that way in June.
Mr. Trump[5] said that the overwhelming amount of negative news coverage was responsible for suppressing his poll numbers.
