President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee got a major boost Monday with Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky announcing he will vote to confirm Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh[1].

Mr. Paul had previously expressed concerns over Judge Kavanaugh[2]’s record on privacy issues, but after a meeting last week, the Republican senator said he’s confident the nominee will be open-minded to digital privacy and property concerns while on the high court.

“My conversation with Judge Kavanaugh[3] reinforces my belief that he will evaluate cases before the Supreme Court from a textual and originalist point of view,” Mr. Paul said....

The senator was one of the three most closely watched Republicans in the debate over Judge Kavanaugh[4]. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, Alaska Republican, and Sen. Susan Collins, Maine Republican, are the other two GOP senators that Judge Kavanaugh[5]’s supporters will want to win over.
