MENOMONIE, Wis. (AP) - A Russian immigrant has been sentenced to 75 years in prison for killing three people from Minnesota in an interstate crash in Wisconsin.

Prosecutors say 36-year-old Serghei Kundilovski, of Orangeville, California, was driving the wrong way on Interstate 94 in Dunn County last year after huffing, or using cans of aerosol to get high. He struck on oncoming vehicle, killing 32-year-old Adam Kendhammer, 27-year-old Jeremy Berchem and 29-year-old Bryan Rudell, all of Minneapolis.

Kundilovski pleaded guilty last November to homicide by driving under the influence. Two interpreters took turns translating 20 victim impact statements in Dunn County Circuit Court Monday, which took three hours.

The Eau Claire Leader-Telegram says Kundilovski apologized, through an interpreter, to the victims’ families and said he didn’t intend to harm anyone.
